Lethal Weapon

Russell Nash Neon Highway's latest release, "Lethal Weapon", is a homage to its cinematic namesake. A driving bass line propels the track forward, accompanied by dynamic percussion and exquisite Faltermeyer-esque synth leads. Skilfully crafted, the composition ebbs and flows from start to finish, replete with hidden Easter eggs referencing the film. An exemplar of this niche, but beloved, genre.

about

I've been wanting to write this track for two years now and I always knew the starting point was with that recognisable sax line from Roger's theme on the original Lethal Weapon movie soundtrack.

There is no sax on this but you'll find Roger's theme slip in on the synth at 0:13 secs. The punchy bass line almost mimics the rhythm you can hear in Sting and Eric Clapton's lead track from the third Lethal Weapon movie.

And if that's not enough, and you really love Lethal Weapon, then you might recognise Roger's police-car callsign "3 William 56". Its no coincidence the track is 3mins 56secs long.
